art as PROTEST

2019 was a year marked by protests around the world and now, after the forced hiatus of Covid-19, it seems that they are starting again from where they left off. Unrest, dissatisfaction, injustice, things which eventually burst into rebellion and revolution are part of the human experience. And art has always had a crucial role in this, in voicing frustrations and articulating messages, protest has always had a creative aspect because creativity is so often born of chaos.

Bloom is coming to life in a world filled with uncertainty and discontent, and that is why we are dedicating our inaugural online exhibition to Art in Protest. It will comprise an online exhibition, a series of workshops by artists discussing their work and its relationship to protest, and the first issue of our ezine. We seek artists who work in all mediums to be part of this event.
