Immortalized in Marble by Elizabeth Hefty-Khoury
Immortalized in Marble explores the continuous adaptation of the human form; from flesh to sculpture to painting. In each rendering, the body alters, changes into something other than it was before. It takes a photograph of a sculpture (again another point in the process of adaption) as its subject. The painting was an experiment for a larger body of work, where human form was completely dissolved into abstraction, and serves as a stepping point on a journey of artistic and creative evolution.
