This work is symbolic of how roles in life and nature can change. The fish are now in the sky, and the falcons are taking their place in the water. The falcons are trapped by the water due to rising air pollution, and fish are now taking to the sky due to the toxic polluted water. Our water and air systems are both necessary, but fragile, and animals’ behavior can tell us about the changing environment. It also symbolizes the changes in gender roles between men and women over time. This work not only symbolizes the changes that take place in nature, but also those occurring in the environment, animals and people.
