Home in brushstrokes: a workshop with Zeina Nader 13/11/23 3 - 7 pm

Lebanese painter, Zeina Nader, paints the landscapes of her country from her own and unique artist's perspective. Her work is infused with the abstract emotions of her love for this land that has endured so much, yet always risen with dignity and strength. Through her paintings she unveils the wounds of her life and imbues them with the hope of her colors.
Her homeland, a country which radiates nothing but beauty despite all the assaults on its peace, is a profound message of love and resilience to the world. Its tranquil landscapes, the blue of its sky and the green of its nature, the sea and the foam, the mountains where magnificent red-roofed houses nestle, the herds of sheep and the trees, the fauna and flora – Zeina paints them all with the fervor of her brush. For within her simple and serene vision lies the strength of this sacred land.
Zeina will be holding a workshop about her abstract technique. How can a painter reach abstraction out of a real object? The process to go from realism to abstraction, through Impressionism and semi-abstraction. How can one express art through the brush and the pen?
Zeina is also an author, and will be presenting some of her books, to show the interrelationship between art and text,

Creative Coffee Sobhieh: every month 12 - 1:30 pm
Sobieh is the Lebanese activity of having coffee and gossiping. This is a group for artists and creatives to get together, have a cup of coffee (or tea, or hot chocolate - choose your poison!) and talk about their work, their inspirations, etc. etc. Bring a sketch pad, or your camera, or just your ideas. The group is informal, just a way for artists to connect with each other.
