December 2022: I see myself

This edition of Acanthus runs in tandem with our upcoming exhibition, Caras. But rather than looking in the mirror, we ask artists and writers to look within. The question of who we are is eternal, but often one we fail to answer.  What does a face hide? What lies beneath our skin? Does art allow us to reinvent ourselves and keep the real us buried deep within us? We invite submissions exploring the idea of hidden selves through painting, photography, text, poetry or video.
